Thailand is blessed with large tracts of limestone throughout its borders making it a veritable treasure trove of caves, flowstones, stalagmites, stalactites, and other underground formations.
It is estimated that there are approximate 4000 discovered caves in Thailand, but even more are unknown in the forest protected limestone peaks of the country.
Many caves are still active temples perfect for meditation retreats and other Buddhist activities that are mostly found in Thailand’s National Parks, others ideal for cave diving, offering unforgettable moments full of fun adventures.
Caves in Thailand are revered as mystical and magical places, and if you are a traveler of an adventurous type, to explore some of the country’s fascinating caves is truly worth a try.
